This is one of my favorite places to taste. Well known for its expansive “veggiscaped” gardens, the best time to visit is in the Summer and Fall when everything is in full bloom. The wines are very well layered pinots and hearty chardonnays. They offer small bar bites with tastings in their beautiful tasting room or outside on their patio, which overlooks the rolling vineyards and gardens. If you want to enhance your experience, call ahead to have them prepare a lunch from the garden and paired with their finest wines. It is a very memorable experience.
It’s all about the bubbles and wigs at the JCB Lounge in Santa Rosa. These cult classic wines and champs are sure to please the palette but the tasting room is equally pleasing. A beautiful chandelier greets you welcomes you to a very intimate tasting experience. Each chair offers a leopard throw and views of the twin TVs playing loops of James Bond movies. Step up the fun and get wild with their wig collection. Makes for some memorable pictures!

Bring your appetite for this one! Located in Kenwood, this family owned Italian villa is a great place to have lunch and taste some rare Italian varietals. Deli style lunch can be taken to go or enjoyed at the villa’s outdoor piazza where they make their own mouthwatering ribs and homemade pizzas. They have a tasty showcase of hearty wines and a worthy Prosecco. Dante is their flagship wine, a blend of Cab and Sangiovese.

I fell in love with this winery as soon as we drove up. The architect is a well known local who specializes in farmhouse revivals. The place does not disappoint. Here you are greeted by a concierge who escorts you to your table. The wines, oh the wines are superb. You have a choice of tasting experiences. If you really want to treat yourself, indulge in the food pairing option. A knowledgeable enthusiast guides your tastings and a tour of the facilities is a must. Really a must do!
